Here's an example: Research has shown that people tend to eat everything on their plate. It's probably because we don't want to waste food, or maybe it's just a habit. Anyway, a simple way to cut calories, automatically and consistently, is to use smaller plates at mealtime, a trick I call portion plates.
Put away the large dinner plates you normally eat from. Instead, start using your 8 inch salad plates as your regular meal plates. I started using this portion plates trick several years ago. After awhile, the salad plate looks normal and the regular plate appears ridiculously huge.
Losing weight doesn't have to be painful or expensive.
Your body wants to be leaner and healthier. All you have to do is create the conditions where you burn more calories each day than you consume.
That is the one "secret" of weight loss.
