Surprisingly, one of almonds health benefits includes losing weight. Several studies have shown that eating almonds can help you shed pounds.
So if almonds are not a regular part of your diet, it's probably time to add them in!
One review in Nurses' Health Study found that people who frequently eat almonds and other nuts are thinner on average than those who rarely eat nuts.
An even more revealing study was published in the International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders. Overweight participants who ate an almond-enriched diet lost 56% more fat and 50% more waistline than the control group. They also had a 62% greater reduction in body mass index score.

You do have to watch how many almonds you eat. One portion (about 28 nuts) contains 170 calories.
